Beyond Poverty > The Poverty & Disability Cycle
The Poverty + Disability Cycle
Children with disabilities are often kept out of sight, their shame hidden in back rooms. They cannot attend school, make friends or get an education and future skills to support themselves.
Parents are forced to stay at home, having to care as best they can for children who are sick or have a disability, unable to earn much-needed money to feed and clothe their families and stave off further malnutrition or illness.
And the chain of events goes on and on.
The
double disadvantage
of poverty and disability is debilitating and difficult to break free from.
As a Beyond Poverty Partner, you are working with CBM to address the root issues that cause poverty and disability and break this cycle.
Yes!
I want to break the cycle of poverty and disability!
