Support CBM > International Women's Day 2010
Each year, March 8, celebrates the achievements of women locally and internationally.
Today, we also remember the achievements and dedication of mothers around the world.
However, life can be often difficult for women and girls living in developing countries.
The reality is a breakdown of basic human rights of women, especially for those living with a disability.
As a result, women in the developing countries, often face three forms of discrimination:
Their status as women
Disability
Economic Status
"Poverty has a woman's face. Global prosperity and peace will only beachieved once all the world's people are empowered to order their own lives and provide for themselves and their families." (Source:
End Poverty 2015
,
United Nations
)
What is CBM's response?
With the support of many CBM partners, we recognise the achievements
of women to lead financially independent lives through business training
and loans.
CBM partners work hard to ensure girls with disabilities can go to school.
Maternal-child health (includes prevention and cure of fistula)
Advocacy for the voices of people with disabilities, to be heard!
How can I help?
Pray for women with disabilities throughout the world, that they would be able to claim full human rights.
Pray that all CBM projects would actively involve women when planning and implementing their work
Talk to your friends and familiy about the issues facting women with disabilities.
