Video transcript
Place like Papua New Guinea. We’ve got many persons with disability and some still they do not access that assistive devices.
We have close to 2,000 people with disabilities that need assistive devices.
Unfortunately due to funding the support that we get when it comes to assistive devices from the hospitals is limited.
We don’t have a place to go to fix our walking stick if they’re broken.
We have no government support, and so I must use a stick with rubber or part of a car tyre tube wrapped around to make my elbow crutch a little longer.
The truth is that I need a wheelchair. To afford a wheelchair, it’s really hard for me.
Access to assistive technology is one of my rights.
More investment needs to be made.
